A Rainy Day at Dakota Creek
CN 8946 leads its northbound loaded coal train across Dakota Creek during moderate to heavy rainfall. It is about three miles to the International Border at Blaine,WA then on to a crew change at Vancouver,BC.With a new crew,it will be on to their ultimate destination of Prince Rupert,BC
C
I see that the BNSF Units on the front end behine a CN Unit, does the BNSF
Units go through to Prince Rupert, BC.?

Believe the BNSF units come off at Thornton Yard,Vancouver and are replaced by CN units.Read in RAILFAN & RAILROAD that it is a BNSF contract and Price Rupert was the only facility on the west coast with capacity to handle coal shipments. There is usually a Roberts Bank bound BNSF coal train on the Swift Siding (Three miles south of the border) due to congestion at Westshore Terminals.
The NIMBYs are out in force to prevent a coal export terminal from being built near Bellingham,WA
